On my birthday I requested a trip to Butterfly World which is to the south of Edinburgh. We’d never been there before, so I didn’t quite know what to expect but I had seen some decent photos online that other people had taken during their trips to the centre so I decided it was worth a try. I would definitely recommend it! The centre is only small but we were in there for about 2 hours doing multiple laps just to see if we could spot any more butterflies. The photography was a bit hit and miss because the butterflies weren’t always the most willing of subjects. Having said that I am pretty happy with this little collection.
It was also fascinating to watch the chrysalises and some of the newly hatched butterflies drying off their wings.
We even spotted a few ugly looking caterpillars chilling out on the plants.
And if the butterflies aren’t enough, there’s also loads of these little guys running about (almost being squished by wild children)…
… and all sorts of fascinating reptiles and insects
