A day at the beach

Today was a lovely warm Easter Sunday, and what a better way to spend it than on the beach.  Until now we have never really taken the opportunity to explore much of the coastline to the south of Edinburgh.  We packed our picnic, kept our fingers crossed that the weather would stay nice, and headed down to Gullane.

I would normally only post 2 or 3 photos in any one blog post, but today I just couldn’t decide which ones to leave out!  So instead here are 6 photos which sum up the day.

First, some sea life in the rock pools:

Then onto the fantastic pieces of drift wood at the far end of the beach:

Testing out our cameras’ capabilities to capture a dandelion’s seeds in fight:

And finally, watching some of our fellow beach-goers enjoying the sunshine:

  1. Thank you Andrew! I have to admit it was more luck than skill but I was pretty happy when I saw how well tht photo came out especially after a few tweaks with the contrast etc!

  2. Hey there Beth, just saw on fb that you had this blog! That dandelion shot is amazing… what camera are you using?

    • Hey Brendan, How are you? Sorry I only just spotted your comment. I have a Nikon D3000 – brought it about a year ago and its great. Then I mostly just use the Aperture programme on the Mac to do any editing. Glad you like the photos 🙂
